Martin was born and educated in Western Australia, graduating as a Civil Engineer in 1974. His professional career has been project based, moving from detailed design through construction to Project Management. His experience in the last twenty years has been as the Owner’s Representative on major projects.
In the 1970s and early 80s, Martin worked in engineering firms in the resources driven development boom in Western Australia. His projects covered design and construction of marine structures, residences, mineral processing plants, cinemas and theatres, pipelines, agricultural facilities and office buildings.
Martin was appointed as the Project Manager for the Burswood Island Resort in Perth in 1985. The resort consists of a 75,000 square foot casino; 412 room hotel; 2,000 seat entertainment center and a 14,000 seat sports building. The resort has become the most successful integrated project in Western Australia and continues to be a major tourism draw-card.
In 1987, Martin moved to New Zealand to become the Project Director for three projects being developed in the booming Auckland market. The most significant of these is the 440,000 square foot National Bank Centre which stands at Auckland’s busiest intersection, and which has become a landmark building.
On his return to Australia, he continued to work in the Project Management field in a range of projects, including the 175 acre East Perth Urban Renewal project and the 22 level Terrace Gardens office tower. During this time, Martin extended his interest in and knowledge of the particular requirements of representing the Owner’s interests while managing the budget and schedule constraints.
In 1993, Martin was offered an opportunity to extend his international experience with projects in Indonesia, where he was the Owner’s Project Manager for a signature golf course development; major land development projects covering 5,000 acres; and 20 and 50 storey office buildings. During this period, he met and became friends with Rick Spieth. Martin subsequently moved to Egypt to carry out a Hyatt Regency hotel development on the Red Sea as Project Director, where he again met Rick.
In 1999, Martin relocated to Sydney, Australia to participate in the booming residential market with several refurbishment projects, converting historic inner city buildings and recycling other buildings into high end apartments.
Following a period with WCI Communities in Florida managing the development of major golf club house projects and a marina, Martin returned to Asia as National Director with Jones Lang LaSalle, developing a 105,000 square foot Bank of America subsidiary BPO facility in India and refurbishing the 750 room Grand Hyatt hotel in Bali.
In 2005, Martin joined the Sand Castles Group to manage the Group’s commercial projects and to provide support to the Sand Castles Group team.

Eddie began his construction career in 1971 as a union carpenter in Miami which evolved into a Senior Superintendent position with the Robert Turchin Construction Company for the development of several of Miami's landmark buildings existing today.
In 1984, Eddie joined the Arvida Corporation in Boca Raton, Florida as a Project Manager and was quickly promoted to the position of Director of High Rise Division. During this time, Eddie obtained his GC licenses.
Overseas experience was obtained in 1991-1992 when Eddie constructed the Ritz Carlton Hotel for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain as the Senior Project Manager for Bovis International.
Eddie returned to Florida and became a prime consultant to the Atlantic Gulf Communities Corporation in 1995 which subsequently developed into the position of Vice President of Construction for the building of luxury high-rise Condominiums, Marinas and Country Club facilities.
Eddie permanently relocated to the Naples area and became the Director of West Coast Construction in 2000 for WCI Amenities Group responsible for Golf Course Clubhouses, Marinas, Sports Clubs and associated infrastructure.
To enhance and complement his Contractor's Licenses, extensive construction experience, enthusiasm, outgoing personality and vast network of friends and contacts, Eddie obtained a Florida Real Estate License in 2002.
In summary, Eddie is a Florida licensed General Contractor, Roofing Contractor and Real Estate Broker with over 32 years experience in construction and management of luxury high rise condominiums, office buildings, country clubs, sports facilities, auditoriums, marinas and single family homes.
Since the days as co-workers at WCI, Eddie and Rick Spieth continued their friendship, worked together in real estate ventures and constantly spoke of the wisdom to unite forces in a construction company. Eddie finally joined SAND CASTLES ESTATE HOMES, INC. as Director of Operations in 2003.
